Deadlines

The main factor in every project and assignment is deadlines. In order to pace yourself, and make sure you have all of your work done on time, you have to set deadlines. It could be something like a timeline or schedule of when things need to be done. Deadlines are important in the business world because you can make or lose money depending on when you get things done. Also, clients will invest in you if you get things done on time and early. In school, your grades depend on if you get things done on time. You can't just blow it off until the next week. Especially in life and business. If you don't pay your bills on time, you lose whatever utility you didn't pay attention to. You need to make good time management skills now so you can always get things done on time.

Accepting Criticism

Criticism can be very good or bad, but it is all in how you handle it. Positive criticism is things like "your show would be better if you added this" or "try using this in your blog, you might get more positive feedback." This is great because you are getting an outside opinion of what you can do to improve. Negative Criticism is like "your blog sucks, no one wants to read it" or "what you did was boring, i hated it." This is negative because it is not constructive. It doesn't help you to improve, it just brings down your self esteem and makes you feel bad about what you have done. When people give you positive criticism, you have to learn to accept it. You cannot take everything personally, and you must learn that in some situations they are just trying to help you by giving you their opinion of the work you have done.

Wiki

A Wiki is a place where you can share things like documents, photos, videos, lists, and anything to a group of people. It is a great way to share your ideas and to get it to a lot of people easily. Another great feature about Wikis is that you can share it to people and also allow them to edit the documents and add whatever they would like. This is a great tool for people who are working on a project and can't meet face to face. They can organize their links, sites, and ideas and then just send it to the whole group with just the click of one button. This is great in schools, for projects, and also for businesses. Instead of making a million phone calls and emails, businesses can just share pages through a wiki.

Communication Tools

How I can use communication tools to present MY tool to the class: I could use a youtube instructional video to show how you work skype. I could also use a powerpoint to show how it is used. Another way is through a wikispace or a google doc that I could share with my classmates and they could refer back to. There are many tools that are used in education that I can use to present my tool to everyone, which is the great thing about technology. Instead of just showing pictures or using notecards, there are many options available so that you can use variety of ways to communicate. For example, you can create projects like podcasts where you broadcast your information. You can make a video to walk people through how to use it. We can use wikispaces to gather information from multiple people and store it in the same place where everyone can edit and view the post. Skype is a video tool, which is a way to share information in itself. Instead of having to meet people in person, you can chat, send files, and video chat all from your computer. This is how you can use communication tools to present.

Diigo

Diigo is a way to share bookmarks in a social setting. It can be used for high school students for research projects, sharing with group members, and any type of research to keep all your websites organized. It can be used for college students in the same way, for research and projects, but on a more advanced level. In the business world, it is a great way to share and market, all from your computer. It is also good to share advertisements on diigo in a social setting for businesses.

Communicating Digitally

Technology has taken over our world in the last decade. Things that used to be done by hand and in person are now done through a screen. People can run businesses through computers and digital communication, people can communicate in numerous ways through technology. Ways of communicating include texting, video chat, calling, facetime, facebook, twitter, myspace, blogs, and email. This can be good and also bad. People say things on facebook and myspace that they wouldnt normally say in person, which can cause drama and fights. This can also be good because its a great way to communicate, share pictures and videos, and find people you havent seen in a while. Overall, digital communication has effected every aspect of people's lives. It is a great tool but should be used responsibly.
